How Do I Best Deal With My Creditors
2009-10-27 minute read
I think that the best advice I can give you is to deal with getting some advice before your creditors start any actions. Right now, the decisions are somewhat in your hands. If your creditors start suing, garnisheeing, etc., some of your decisions are made by them. There are several different options available to you, and it's important that you review them before creditors start actions. The first step is to contact one of our Trustees or counsellors in your area. This can either be done over the phone or in person. You can find them on our website athttp://www.mnpdebt.ca/contact/default.aspx. They will review all of these options with you so that you and your common-law can decide which option is best for you. And the option that one of you chooses may not necessarily be the option that the other chooses. That is.....if bankruptcy or a proposal turns out to be the best option for one of you, that may free up enough room in your budget for the other spouse to deal with their creditors on their own. Don't hesitate to call one of us to review the specifics of your situation. Donna Carson, CGA, CIRP, Trustee 1.877.500.0792 [email protected]
