Caryl Newbery-Mitchell, MBA, CIRP, LIT, is a Senior Vice-President in MNP’s Consumer Insolvency practice. Caryl helps individuals, professionals and owners of small businesses find solutions to their financial problems so they can make a fresh start and rebuild their lives. She works out of a number of MNP’s offices, serving clients throughout the greater Toronto area.
Non-judgemental and personable, Caryl listens to each person’s unique circumstances and formulates a personalized solution to their financial issues. She delivers strong financial advice and helps her clients through the consumer proposal and bankruptcy process when it is in their best interests to do so.
Having focused on corporate recovery for some time, Caryl has experience with formal and informal insolvency proceedings in variety of industries, including construction, real estate, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and retail. Her previous experience in commercial lending at one of Canada’s Big Five banks provides her with a unique perspective when providing advice to those in financial distress and to secured lenders analyzing their options for nonperforming loans.
Caryl received her Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2006 after completing an undergraduate degree in Finance at the University of Western Ontario. She obtained the Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) designation in 2012 and the Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT) designation in 2013.
